Bonnie Elaine Brown Obituary

Bonnie Elaine Brown, the second oldest child, was born to Willie Lee and Clarence Brown Sr. on June 24, 1962. She was named after her aunt, Bonnie Fay Porter, but was affectionally known as Elaine by her family. Bonnie grew up in the Van Vleck community, where she played softball in her early life.

Bonnie attended Van Vleck ISD, graduating from Van Vleck High School in 1980. She entered the workforce at a young age, working for Top Hats restaurant and Guffey’s Grocery. She managed both McDonalds and Hardees restaurants. She became the Food Service Director for Van Vleck ISD and later Bay City ISD. In addition to those jobs, she worked as a private duty nurse aide and in the custodial field for her church and local businesses around the area. She was an extremely dependable worker and knew how to run an efficient business. She left a lasting impression on everyone she worked with and met. She was well-respected by her peers and employers. Bonnie was an avid reader and loved to read her Bible and many different genres of novels. Bonnie gave her life to Christ, joined the church, and was baptized early.

She was a St. John Missionary Baptist Church member and later joined Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. St. John Missionary Baptist Church and Bethel Missionary Baptist Church were her church homes for most of her life.

She faithfully served in any areas that she could in her home church. She loved to sing, loyally taught Sunday school, was a superintendent of the Sunday school, and was a member of the Divinely Inspired Victoriously Anointed Sisters (D.I.V.A.S.). Bonnie was a teacher of the Women’s Mission at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Bay City, Texas.
